Secret & Silence Beaches

We offer a full tour of the beaches of Phuket, passing by nice little roads, often with exceptional views. Most are on the West Coast with the exception of the first which is on the East Coast. Schematically, the island of Phuket is divided into two: for the West Coast, the beautiful sandy beaches, and for the East coast, wilder beaches, often made of mangrove. It is very beautiful but not suitable for swimming. The beaches are presented clockwise, starting only from the East Coast.

1. Ao Yon

In fact, Yon Bay (Ao means bay in Thai)-which means Ao Yon in Thai, has two beaches very close to each other and only separated by a rocky outcrop covered with lush jungle. The easternmost beach, the closest to Cape where the Marine Biological Research Center is located in the quieter of the two. For the moment, it only has one beach bar/restaurant (Ship Inn Bar & Restaurant) plus a few bungalows and houses for rent. Here, we are far from the hustle and bustle of the beaches of the West Coast but this small beach, of easy access, is ideal to relax.

Please note: this is a coral beach with a lot of coral debris - so provide plastic shoes for swimming.

2. Laem Ka Beach

Before Rawai Beach, a small road leaves on the left at the corner of 7 / 11: it joins this pretty little cove of rocks and sand crossing private land. Magnificent view of the surrounding islets (Koh Bon, Koh Hae ). Currently inaccessible by this road: the owner of the coconut grove which allowed access to this beach has decided to close the entrance to his land making access to this beach impossible by this way. Access is now much more complicated: you have to cross the fishing village east of Rawai and pass by the coast. Allow 15 minutes for walking. But each inconvenience has its advantage: Laem Ka Beach is now almost deserted!

3. Secret Beach

We named it "Secret Beach" but in fact, this beach has no name. It does not appear on any map and its access is not indicated on any of the lanes that pass nearby. The only thing you will be told is that this small beach of white sand and coral residue is located between Rawai and Cape Promthep. We will not give its exact location or the means to access it: this beach must remain a destination for motivated people.

They will therefore have to make a research effort to discover paradise! To swim here, it is advisable to take plastic sandals because the seabed is strewn with coral debris. Also provide a mask and snorkel, because the water is crystal clear and the fish numerous.

4. Ao Sane

It is a small bay still relatively spared from mass tourism, thanks to its somewhat complicated access. You must enter the hotel complex "The Nai Harn Phuket", and in the parking lot, take the passage between the sea and the hotel on the left. Leave the hotel on the other side and continue on the very narrow road: be careful, it hardly crosses so drive very slowly. The small road winds for a few hundred meters between hill and sea. Magnificent viewpoint on the island opposite Cape Promthep (Koh Man) and Nai Harn beach. You will then come to Ao Sane - we pronounce Ao Sene. The water here is particularly clear, and the fairly rich seabed: corals and fish will delight snorkelers. Swimming to the west, opposite the hotel complex "Baan Krating" and its small private beach, is a beautiful set of corals "deer horns". A small restaurant is located on the beach and allows you to refresh yourself and have lunch in front of a magnificent landscape.
